Here we finally find out the name of this goth-lite girl we’ve been following for the last few pages; Tasi Diangelo. FYI: for the record, Tasi is pronounced this way; sounds like TOSS-SEE. The name Tasi is of Chamoru origin (the Chamoru people are the indigenous peoples of the Mariana Islands). The meaning of Tasi is “sea or ocean.” In Italian the meaning of the name DiAngelo is ” from the angel”. So, very loosely translated, her name means “from the angel ocean” or “from the sea of angels” Notice the type of door knocker? In it, Tasi sees her reflection. A visual foreshadowing of her hidden character that she cannot begin to even contemplate here. And there are other visual clues to her current state of mind. Can you find them?

nice little nod to watchmen there.
Curious to know what exactly you are refering to. Thanks!
Think might be freeing to the pins Tasi is wearing. Look very similar to yellow smiley pin in Watchmen.
Ahh! Got it! No intention there. But If it were a tip to the Watchmen I probably might have placed blood splatter on the smiley face. If you look closely, the two smiley face buttons on Tasi’s sweater are not actually smiley faces at all, but cynical faces (with the straight lipped expressions). That was very deliberate. It is a subtle insight to her state of mind. And thanks for the spell check 🙂
